Busy really doesn't begin to describe our lives here lately...so for now I am just letting everyone know we are alive.

Operation Heroes

I have to applaud Minot AFB for "Operation Heroes!" I do not often get excited by or am pleased by much that happens here. However this past Saturday Josiah, Makayla and I attend "Operation Heroes," our Airman and Family Readiness Center hosts a day for kids and families to experience a deployment. Not that we will ever really appreciate all aspects of one but now we can appreciate all the prep that they have to go through.

Here is the basic run through of how the event works...They start with a "recall," thats when you are called from your squadron telling you what time to show and what you need to bring. So Thursday evening Josiah received his recall asking him to report to the base theater at 0950on Saturday with his uniform, dog tags, orders and medical records. And so we did!

They presented the colors and then we were briefed by our base commander. Immediately following our brief we were bused out to the flight line where they out processed us. This included briefings on the locals where we are deploying to as well as any shots we may need or other medical stuff. Following this we were able to get up close and personal with some really COOL things. Like...

  Explosives!

Bomb Squad Equiptment

Really Big Cargo

Play in a Humvee!

Check out a Helo

And of course seeing Daddy's jet!

After all that you would think we were done...but wait there is more. They had the kids decorate a pillowcase or a handkerchief that could be taken on deployment with their loved ones. Here is what Josiah made.

Finally we were bused to the park here on base where we were greeted with signs and banners saying, "Welcome Home!"

I think this experience will stick with Josiah for years to come. Especially with Daddy's deployment this Spring as well as his 3 wk trip to Red Flag Alaska next week.

We are very proud of our daddy and what he does!

Anyone feel like this???

I have reached am beyond my limit!

We have been MIA once again...the good news is we are moved! The bad news is we are still moving small stuff from the old house. You know all the stuff that you dread...stuff from the garage and taking apart the trampoline!

The other bad new is WE STILL DO NOT KNOW ABOUT OUR CAR!!! Ahh, I feel better now. We have called and called again about our car and they are still waiting for the total loss person to make up their mind and email the pictures and paperwork. So once again we are in limbo and are waiting.

I know that God is in control but I really hate feeling out of control! Anyone out there feel the same? So for now we wait some more and pray they have answer for us today.

Weary and annoyed in North Dakota :(

Hunting Season Opened Early...

Yesterday started out as a great day! We spent the day down in Bismarck running errands, such as new tires, a new cell phone for me, a trip to Kohl's, all those fun things.

We even bought a new TV for our new house! What we didn't plan on doing was totaling the Explorer on the way home!

Ah, now I have your attention...yes last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. CST, I was able to check a few boxes off on my life to do list. Things like hit a deer at 70 mph (yes that is the speed limit), have your airbags deploy, change your child on the front seat of a Highway Patrolman's car, wait over an hour for a tow truck and your friend to drive the 60+ miles to pick you and your family up.

The final word is not back from the insurance company but they are planning on it being a total loss. So now we have one more thing to add to our plate. We were informed today to begin looking for a new car...most would be excited about this however I was really not ready to have to do this. Actually I almost want to lay on the floor and throw a complete FIT! Please remember us this week as we are moving into our new house and trying to car shop all with a 4 yr old and a 10 month old.

My God is BIG!!!

After the morning that we have had, one would think that God was not in control. However, I know differently!

Last night we got the call to move and yes we are moving right away. Just earlier this week housing called us asking some bizarre questions, such as would we be willing to move without reimbursement? Of course our answer was "NO are you CRAZY?" that we were not willing to take on the expense. So last night when the housing office called we were pleasantly surprised ecstatic to hear that we chosen to move before the end of September. Then came the million dollar question...what is our address? They couldn't answer that last night, so needless to say I was worried stressed out beyond belief that they were not going to give us a house big enough.

Then Josiah woke up sick! Yuck not a good start to the day. However, we have been lucky blessed to have neighbors who are a dr. and a pa. So my friend looked at Josiah this morning and told me to get him in for a strep culture. My first thought was really God? but that was quickly put aside with thank you God its not his ears! Well I got him into the dr. and a couple of hours later we met Joe at the housing office with medicine.

So there I was still waiting and still stressed out because they have not given us our address. Then as I am talking with Joe there was a soft gentle voice voice YELLING at me reminding me who is in control. So I took a deep breath and walked into the office. Once in side we saw our address and all I can say is GOD IS GOOD!

We are blessed to be moving into one of the few freestanding houses here on base. Most houses are duplex style which are great but I really didn't want a three story two story anymore.

So after this crazy stressful day that is not ending anytime soon, I just want to remind everyone to try and look through God's eyes at your present situation. He definitely has a different perspective and its always for our good.

For now we will be very busy around here packing and then next week we are planning the BIG move. Please keep us in your prayers as there is much much more going on but I know that my God is BIG!

Blessings for a safe and family filled holiday weekend!
