Here are the instructions: Go to the place where you store all of your pictures on your computer and open up the 4th folder. Open the 4th picture. Post the picture and give an explanation. Tag 4 people!

This picture is from early December 2008, we purchased the family a GPS for Christmas. Here we're going on a GPS adventure and part of that was photographing our day. Starting with our McDonald's drive-thru where we were getting some breakfast, before we cruise down to Bismarck.

I tag Tiffany, Lauren, Audra and Karie! You're it and I can't wait to see :)

Oh what a day!!!

WOW, I am really glad that today is almost over. We have had a very busy day; daddy stayed home sick, Josiah started Joy School and Makayla is feeling a little under the weather. So basically mommy is REALLY tired!
Josiah had a wonderful first day of Joy School...He played with Lane, learned about the weather and the date, he learned all the rules to safely enjoy school and made a beautiful craft. I am very blessed to witness and to enjoy all the challenges of being one of Josiah's teacher. My neighbor Karie and I have embarked on this journey to help better our children for the future. This is a journey that we learned today will have many ups and downs and truly take more patience then what I feel I possess most days. But all in all I believe Karie and I will be blessed for embarking on this journey before us.
This was our craft today...we shaved crayons and place them between a folded sheet of paper. Then we ironed them inside a brown paper bag. To create this beautiful mosaic!

Big Bows, Boots & Big Brother

One of my favorite parts of being a mom is that I get to dress up my kids. So Sunday morning I dressed Makayla Grace in one of her many cute outfits, which of course must include shoes and a big bow. What do you think?
Then later in the day we were taking some pictures of Makayla Grace when Josiah decided to join in on the fun. This is always something I truly love to watch, my son love on his little sister. He is such a big brother! Josiah is always concerned with her if she is fussing or crying, he is very quick to say "Hurry "honey" Kayla Grace is hungry!" Josiah solution to Makayla crying is that she must be hungry. And yes my son does call me "Honey," if I do not answer to that then he calls me "Sweetheart or Mommy."

What do you find?

Last night Joe and I were doing our usual rounds before we head off to bed and here is what we found when we checked on Josiah...
Not only did we find Josiah wearing his Lightning McQueen slippers, which he got up and put on, but he also managed to gather some other things from around his room. If you look closely he has a black "Lightning McQueen" bracelet under his bum, a variety of books spread out, Transformer watch with its interchangeable faces, stretchy caterpillar, blue Christmas blanket and Boz who is currently being smashed by Mater. Every night we tuck him in with a puppy, puppy blanket, "AL" his alligator, Lightning and Mater pillows and of course his Lightning McQueen blanket! And every morning we find most of these things on the floor next to his bed.
We have already decided that when we move this summer to our new house (still here in Minot), Josiah will be upgrading to a full bed. Not just because he has out grown his much loved toddler bed but mainly because he cannot sleep without all of his friends!

Joe and I feel very blessed to have such an active little man to keep us constantly on our toes. Also we want to wish Josiah a happy 3 1/2 year birthday today! Its been a wild ride and I am glad that its really just begun!

What do you find when you check on your young ones?

FUN!!!

Nothing like some good old fashioned FUN! Josiah and I went sledding at a friends today and we had tons of fun. And we can prove it!

Post Storm Pictures #2

I hope these pictures can give you a little more perspective on the depth or height of our snow. Soon we will stand at the end of our driveway and not be able to see our front door.

After 10 more inches!

Like we said before "Why not, Minot?"

This is why...Overnight we received 10 additional inches of snow! It took all in all about 2.5 hours to clear our driveway. I definitely could have come up with some better things to do with that time. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!
Check back for more pictures...we headed out to bowl!

Its Winter (Edited edition, without Josiah saying "Mommy" every 5 seconds!)

Well, as many of you know, we have gotten some serious amounts snow this winter. Its really hard to grasp how much snow, so here are a few picture from around town.
This is a view of our church. That snow is from the plow that cleared our parking lot. This is a common site around town.Even more amazing are the pictures of our home. I wanted to post this today because as I am writing we are under a "Winter Storm Warning," which means we will have the following in the next 12 hours; 6 or more inches of snow and 3 or more inches of ice with high winds and blowing snow. I don't know about you but that just sounds awesome! Before this storm hits I wanted to post some pre-storm pictures. As you will see from the next picture we have not had the time to DIG out our Christmas decorations since we have been home. However, I am not really sure we are going to be able to rescue these until spring!I would take some pictures of the back yard but currently its a knee deep walk back there. So those will have to wait until we go back there to dig our patio furniture out.

I always forget...

It seems like every year we forget to take a picture in front of the Christmas tree in our pjs. So as we were leaving Florida I realized that once again we had forgotten. However now I am declaring it a tradition for us to always "FAKE" our Christmas morning picture. How did we do this year?

Our first homemade Christmas present

So this year Mom came to visit when I had Makayla Grace and we had some ideas about crafts with Josiah. Well while she was here we tried to make the reindeer magnets (see below). However we definitely underestimated a project this INTENSE with a 3 yr old.

We then decided to do some of the REALLY difficult stuff ourselves. I was pretty sure that when Mom left, I was never going to finish these nor would I dream of having Josiah help me. However the day before we were leaving for Florida I had a lapse in my judgment and decided to venture out to finish these with Josiah's help.

So we begin and to my surprise he did an AWESOME job! Believe it or not we had a great time making these. The snowflakes he did on his own. He dotted them with some glitter paint and then glued these little white snowballs to each. On the Santa clips he glued the hats and drew the eyes (which look like dashes). Then for the reindeer he glued the clip to the wreath and the eyes and nose on.

All in all it was a lot of fun! Maybe next year he will be able to do more on his own. Guess you have to check back then!

Our Little Snow(wo-)man

So our wonderful family friend got this adorable outfit for Makayla Grace as a joke. However I had to put her in it...Now for all the world to see

Stay Tuned

This is a challenge to myself! So if I post it hopefully you all will help me follow through with it.

I will make some new posts to include:

Our wonderful trip home for Christmas (which only took us a year to get back).
Updated pictures of my kiddos.
Finally some much needed pictures of the "Snowball" (according to our friend Megan) that we call home.

So please stay tuned!
